Whole-grain Italian Croutons
Making your own croutons is not only super simple, they’re far tastier than the store-bought kind!
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Bruschetta Seasoning or Pizza Seasoning
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1⁄2 loaf (5 cups) whole-grain bread, gluten-free bread, or stale, leftover bread, cut in 1" cubes
- 1⁄4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 325° F (160° C).
- In a large bowl, combine seasoning with water. Let stand 5 min. Whisk in olive oil. Add bread, and toss to coat evenly. Add parmesan, and toss again.
- Spread in an even layer on Sheet Pan and bake, stirring half way through, until toasted and golden, 15–20 minutes. They will get crispier as they cool.
- Serve over salad or soup. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 weeks.
