This open-faced steak sandwich is a riff on classic Steak ’n Caesar, replacing traditional Romaine with heart-healthy spinach.

Ingredients

  • 2 thick slices bread, toasted or grilled
  • 14 cup steak sauce
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 (4 oz/ 114 g) Grilled Montreal Steak, cooked, sliced
  • 4 strip loin steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 - 4 tbsp Montreal Steak Rub or Beef & Steak Seasoning
  • 14 cup Caesar Dressing
  • 2 tbsp Caesar Dressing Mix
  • 2 tbsp light mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 14 cup milk, your choice
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves, optional
  • 2 red onion rings, optional
  • Better Than Bacon Topper, to taste

Preparation

  • Spread toasted bread with steak sauce. Arrange spinach overtop.
  • Top with steak, then drizzle with Caesar Dressing.
  • Place sandwiches on plates and top with onion rings, if desired, and Better Than Bacon Topper.
