4 servings

Cooking on a budget? Eggs are your secret weapon to getting a healthy meal on the table for just over a buck a serving. They’re affordable, delish, and nutritious. Even better, your handy dandy Sauté Pan is large enough to double up on eggs—crack in up to 8 eggs for hungry bellies!

Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 bell pepper, optional
  • 12 large yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can (14 oz/398 ml) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup prepared Rosée Sauce
  • 1 pkg Rosée Sauce Mix
  • 1 12 cups milk, your choice
  • 12 cup tomato paste
  • 4 eggs

Preparation

  • Chop garlic, pepper (if using), and onion.
  • Heat oil in Sauté Pan over medium-high heat. Add chopped garlic and veggies; stir-fry until onions are soft, about 6–8 min.
  • Stir in tomatoes and sauce; bring to a simmer, about 3 min, stirring often.
  • Use the back of a spoon to form 4 shallow wells in the sauce mixture. Crack an egg into each well. Reduce heat to medium-low and cover; simmer 7–8 min, or until eggs are just set.
  • If desired, sprinkle cheese over shakshuka in pan. Cover; let simmer until cheese is melted, about 1 min.
