Kickin’ Jalapeño Burgers

A deliciously spicy burger gets its kick from a blend of real jalapeno peppers, Cayenne, paprika and onion. When layered with Roasted Garlic Aioli and all the fixings, you get one flavorful hamburger!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Kickin’ Jalapeño Seasoning
  • 1 small tomato
  • 14 red onion
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 12 cup low-sodium sliced pickles
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns

Preparation

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush with oil.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef and seasoning. Using a fork or your hands, mix until well blended. Form into four equal patties.
  • Grill patties with lid closed 3–4 min per side, until cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, thinly slice tomato and onion.
  • Tuck burgers into buns and top with sliced veggies, lettuce, pickles, and aioli, if desired.

Tips

PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM BURGERS: Brush both sides of four mushroom caps with olive oil and 2 tbsp seasoning, getting as much of the seasoning and oil in the gills as you can. Grill with lid closed until tender, about 5 min per side.

JALAPENO POPPER BURGERS: In a bowl, mix 1⁄2 cup light cream cheese and 1⁄4 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Tuck burgers into buns and top each with 1⁄2 tbsp cream cheese mix and toppings of choice.
