Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add molasses, mix thoroughly then add whole egg and mix again.
Sift all dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture.
Roll cookies into 3⁄4" balls, roll in white sugar. Place on Sheet Pan lined with Sheet Pan Liner. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon and bake for 10 minutes.
