Classic Gingersnap Cookies

Re-introduce your family to this classic cookie.

Ingredients

  • 34 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 14 cup dark molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 14 cup all-purpose flour
  • 12 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp ginger (ground)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 12 tsp nutmeg (ground)
  • 12 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 12 cup white sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
  • Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add molasses, mix thoroughly then add whole egg and mix again.
  • Sift all dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture.
  • Roll cookies into 3⁄4" balls, roll in white sugar. Place on Sheet Pan lined with Sheet Pan Liner. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon and bake for 10 minutes.
