Baked Maple Squash
How sweet it is! Maple and butternut squash are a match made in heaven, so enjoy the sweet maple flavours of Oh Canada Dry Glaze. Or, swap in Herb & Garlic Dip Mix and brush 2 tbsp maple syrup over the squash along with the melted butter. Thanks to squash, this recipe is a good source of vitamin A, important for healthy vision, and vitamin C, important for protecting your body’s cells from damage.
Ingredients
- 1 butternut squash
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 tbsp Oh Canada Dry Glaze
- Sea Salt, to taste
Preparation
- Cut squash in half lengthwise (Tip: For easier slicing, soften squash by microwaving on high for 1–2 minutes). Using a spoon, scoop out seeds and soft fibres.
- Brush with butter, then sprinkle dry glaze overtop.
- Place squash halves in Multipurpose Steamer. Cover and microwave on high for 15 min or until tender. Or, place halves on Sheet Pan lined with Sheet Pan Liner. Pour 1 cup water around squash. Bake in preheated 350° F oven for 1 1⁄2 hours, until squash is tender.
- Cut into thick slices or scoop squash into serving bowl. Season with Sea Salt and serve.
